The short version
Your material stays on your device. The only thing that ever touches a network is Coach analysis, and only when you explicitly ask for it. We don't sell data, we don't have ads, and we can't read your jokes.
What stays on your device
Everything. Your jokes, sets, recordings, scratch pad notes, and settings all live in a local database on your phone. They are not uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server we control. If you delete the app, that data is gone. We don't hold a copy.
What leaves your device
One thing: Comedy Coach analysis. When you ask the Coach to read your material or review a recorded performance, the relevant content is sent to Anthropic's API over an encrypted HTTPS connection. This only happens when you explicitly tap a Coach button. Nothing is sent automatically in the background.
No other data leaves your device.
Anthropic and data retention
TightSpot uses Anthropic's Claude API for Coach analysis. Anthropic retains API request data for up to 28 days for trust and safety review purposes. This data is never used to train AI models, never shared with third parties, and never visible to other users.

Audio recordings
Recordings made in TightSpot are stored locally on your device only. Transcription is performed on-device using a local AI model. The audio never leaves your phone. The transcript may be sent to the Coach for analysis if you request a performance review, but the audio file itself is never uploaded.
Backups
If you export a backup, the file goes wherever you send it and is entirely within your control. The backup file is encrypted with your passphrase. We don't hold a copy and we cannot open it. There is no recovery if you forget your passphrase. Write it down somewhere safe.
If you want to go fully offline
TightSpot supports running Coach analysis entirely on your own machine using a local AI engine. In this mode, nothing leaves your home network. See our local setup guide for full instructions.
Analytics and tracking
None. TightSpot contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising trackers, and no third-party data collection of any kind beyond the Anthropic API described above.
Children
TightSpot is intended for adults. The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
